Now half and more of portable laptops, available today at stores, goes with 60 Gb 2,5-inch HDD.
These laptops works 4-8 hours on laptop battery. Disk space increase, for 250+ Gb will will not be so expensive – such HDD will cost for you $80. Besides, it is good to take care of additional increase system RAM size for what in the most netbooks only one socket is provided. 1Gb memory will cost you $15 for a module and all summary expenses on the total upgrade will not exceed $100. For this money you have an opportunity to store much more information on your netbook, and also result to increase operation system speed.
After all upgrades HP computer, for example, can be used without hp laptop batteries as “system unit”, having connected to it the LCD screen panel, a mouse and the keyboard, – an excellent choice for the regular home user. Remember that netbooks, as a rule, do not support possibility to install memory modules more than 2 Gb. Maximum all amount supported by them is 4 Gb. What to do with old hard drive? The answer to this question is obvious – it is not bad to gain special “pocket” for 2,5-inch disk with availability of its connection to the laptop via USB slot. The most simple version will cost you of all in $10. As a result you will have an external portable hard drive storage for carrying large files.
How at replacement of the hard disk not to lose the info? For this purpose it is enough to clone the information from the laptop to the new disk. Use special software tools like Symantec Ghost or Acronis True Image for it.
